The Rosenfeld Collection contains over one million images, and because of its scope, you may need research help. We are entering new images in our online database weekly, but so far the offering is limited.
Searching
In entering the word(s) you want to search for, use either all capital letters or all lower case letters. For example: SPINNAKERS or spinnakers. The searching area is case sensitive if you use mixed case letters.
If you do not find what you are looking for in our "Begin by Searching" box to the left, or if you experience any difficulties in obtaining information, our research associates will be happy to search for images of vessels, people or events for you.
Ready Reference Research: If we can answer your research inquiry "off the top of our heads" or in less than fifteen minutes, you will not be charged a research fee.
For personal and non-profit group research:
* The hourly fee is $50.
* Normal response time for a research package is several weeks from the time that your inquiry is received.
* For rush processing, the commercial research rate will apply.
For commercial research:
* The hourly fee is $75.
* The response time is generally less than one week, and is determined by the project deadline.
* We will need details of your project to arrange a license with you for the use of images selected.
There is no additional charge for shipping our research report.
Reproduction charges for prints and commercial use fees will be determined separately after images have been selected for your project.
If you would like to visit us in person to do research, please call to make an appointment.
A minimum of one hour is required. We ask that you authorize and pay for research time in advance. Fees are not refundable. Members receive a 10% discount on research charges.
Requests are handled on a first-come, first-served basis.
