Description: 7x5 Kodak safety negative photographed by Morris Rosenfeld, July 9, 1938 at the time of the start of the New York Yacht Club Cruise. Visible in image is GLEAM, #US11, undersail in the background, port quarter view, and only the spinnaker and mainsail of NORTHERN LIGHT, #US14, in the foreground running before the wind under spinnakers and mainsail. The woman in the photograph is Mrs. Dorothy Weekes Buck (wife of W. Porter Buck). View of the 70' Clinton Crane designed, Henry B. Nevins built 12 meter class sloop GLEAM (built 1937 in City Island, NY) and the 70' Sparkman & Stephens designed, Henry B. Nevins built 12 meter class sloop NORTHERN LIGHT (built 1938 in City Island, NY) sailing on Long Island Sound.
